Christine Hiebert has focused on drawing since 1989. Her works on paper and wall installations
investigate the nature and language of line, and a personal psychology of space.
Her drawings have been on view at The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art,
and The Drawing Center. She has exhibited widely in the United States and in Europe. Installation
sites for wall drawings in blue tape and other media include The Davis Museum and Cultural Center at
Wellesley College and The Addison Gallery of American Art in Massachusetts, and the Pinakothek
der Moderne in Munich. She has had recent solo exhibitions of her drawings at Victoria Munroe Fine
Art in Boston, at Margarete Roeder Gallery in New York, and at Gallery Joe in Philadelphia.
Hiebert studied graphic design and fine art at the Philadelphia College of Art, and received an
MFA in painting at Brooklyn College. She teaches drawing at University of the Arts and at Parsons /
The New School. She has lived and worked in New York City since 1986, travelling and working
periodically in Europe and in the American west.
